Winter and wet weather application tips

Wet, cold panels are why winter stickers peel. We do not publish a minimum temperature. Fit on a dry panel, out of the rain, or wait.

What to avoid

Do not stick onto standing water, onto a panel that has just been washed and is still damp, or in falling rain. Moisture under the film is a bubble now and an edge lift later. A cold panel that is also wet is worse. Bring the stickers indoors so the rolls are not brittle, but do not heat them on a dashboard.

If you have to fit today

Use a dry bay. Dry the panel. Wipe with isopropyl alcohol or a panel wipe and a clean cloth. Stick, squeegee, and leave the machine under cover until the edges have grabbed. Do not pressure-wash it on the way out of the yard.

If the panel cannot be dried, do not fit. A sticker that falls off on the road is not a saving. Catalogue stickers in stock can dispatch the same day so they are on the shelf before the weather turns. Custom work is quoted.

If the only dry place is indoors, fit there. A sticker fitted in the rain and then blamed on the film is a wasted panel and a second visit. Store the rolls in the dry as well. A wet box in the back of a van is not ready to use just because the panel has been wiped. If you cannot dry the panel, leave the sticker in the bag. Fitting it anyway Fitting it anyway means fitting it twice. If the panel cannot be dried, leave the sticker in the bag and wait for a dry bay. A sticker fitted onto a damp panel is the one that peels on the way to site.
