Artwork file prep for hire stickers

Sharp vinyl starts with a sharp file. A photo of a logo on a website header is how letters reprint soft.

What to send

A vector PDF, AI or EPS is the file we can scale without the edges breaking up. Outline the fonts, or send the font file if the lettering has to match a brand typeface. A PNG is acceptable only when it is large, sharp, and has a transparent background if the logo sits on a coloured panel. State the print width, or the maximum width that fits the panel.

Put phone numbers, depot names and fleet codes in a typed note. Do not expect anyone to read them off a photograph of a worn door. If you have a colour version and a one-colour version, send both and say which panel gets which.

What slows the proof

Screenshots, Word files with a floating logo, and tiny social-media exports all need redrawing. That is extra time, and the redraw can only be as accurate as the picture. A worn sticker can still be matched: send a straight-on photo in good light, with a ruler or a known dimension in the frame, through Match my sticker.

Colours

Say the colours as print colours, not as “the green on the van”. A photograph of a van shifts in daylight. If a logo must sit on an orange panel and also on a white door, send both uses and we will proof them separately. Small text that is unreadable at the print size will be sent back. Increase the size or remove the line.

Proof

Nothing custom is printed until you approve the proof. Check spelling, the fleet code and the size against the machine, not against the email subject line. In-stock catalogue stickers, which do not need your artwork, can dispatch the same day. Your logo is a quoted job.
