Skip and portaloo branding notes

Skips and portaloos are seen from the road. The name has to be large enough to read, and it has to be stuck to a sound panel.

Panels

Measure a flat area. Avoid ribs that will split a letter, and avoid the door swing on a cabin. Clean off site mud before you stick. A logo stuck over flaking paint will leave with the paint. Do not cover instructions or identification plates that the unit already carries.

Words

Send the name, the phone or depot text in a typed note, and the width. One art file for the fleet is better than a new logo every time a unit goes out. Hire notices, if you use them, should be separate from the name so both can be read.

These units are not, by themselves, the lifting equipment LOLER describes. Do not put a thorough examination date on a skip because a forklift on the same job has one. Date labels belong on the lifting equipment the report covers. Catalogue stickers in stock can dispatch the same day. Custom panels are quoted.

Large panels show scuffs. Laminate is worth asking for on a skip side that is seen from the road. Measure twice if the panel has a rib in the middle of the name. A letter split by a rib looks broken and lifts. Send one logo file and use it for both skips and cabins if the brand is the same. If a unit is repainted, order the panel again rather than peeling and resticking a wrinkled one. A name that has cracked across a rib should be It should be remade to miss the rib. A skip side and a cabin door can share a logo file, but they rarely share a size, so measure both.
